The Richard Mille RM 47 Manual Winding Tourbillon, widely known as the “Samurai,” is an ultra-exclusive, limited-edition timepiece launched in 2022 that blends haute horlogerie with traditional Japanese craftsmanship. Limited to just 75 pieces worldwide, the watch was born out of a conversation between Richard Mille and two-time Formula 1 World Champion Fernando Alonso, who is deeply passionate about Japanese traditional arts and samurai principles.

⚔️ Design & Métiers d’Art
The defining feature of the RM 47 is an incredibly detailed, miniature 3N yellow gold Samurai suit of armour integrated directly into the skeletonised movement.
- Handicraft: Each individual armour set is hand-carved by master engraver Pierre-Alain Lozeron (taking 16 hours) and meticulously hand-painted by Valérie Lozeron (taking 9 hours).
- Symbolism: The design incorporates historical nods to the Asano clan and the legend of the 47 Rōnin, showcasing the clan’s Kamon (crest of crossed hawk feathers) at the 6 o’clock position. The back of the movement reveals the reverse side of the armour and crossed katana swords.
- The Crown: Crafted from titanium, Carbon TPT®, and yellow gold, the crown features a detailed Japanese maple leaf motif, symbolizing seasons and impermanence.
💰 Market Value & Rarity
Because only 75 pieces exist, the watch is highly coveted by elite collectors and rarely surfaces on the open market.. always be careful deal with unknown dealer’s.
