RM 21-02 Manual Winding Tourbillon Aerodyne
CALIBRE RM21-02
Manual winding tourbillon movement with hours, minutes, function selector, power-reserve and torque indicators.
POWER RESERVE
Around 70 hours (± 10%).
Richard Mille RM 21-02 Tourbillon Aerodyne combines bold design and exceptional materials for a striking look characterized by a case made of Carbon TPT and Green Quartz TPT, two exclusive materials with exceptional physical properties and a distinctive appearance.
Green Quartz TPT is also used for the case back, while the case middle is crafted from satin-finished grade 5 titanium with TPT carbon pillars. The design is enlivened by orange accents.
Measuring 42.68 x 50.12 x 14.30 mm, the three-part case is water-resistant to 50 meters / 165 feet, thanks to two nitrile O-rings. The case is assembled with 20 spline screws in grade 5 titanium and 316L stainless steel anti-abrasion washers.
The power reserve indicator is positioned where the numeral would normally be at 11 o’clock, while the torque indicator is symmetrically placed at 1 o’clock. This allows the wearer to monitor the mainspring tension and thus optimize the movement’s operation. Below 5.3 N.mm, the spring is too loose; at the other extreme, above 6.5 N.mm, excessive tension can impair the movement’s function and even cause damage.
At 4 o’clock, you’ll find the function selector, activated by a pusher integrated into the center of the crown. Pressing it allows you to switch from the Neutral (N) position to Winding (W) or Hand Setting (H).
