Greubel Forsey puts the Earth at the centre of this GMT Balancier Convexe, resulting in a most original interpretation of the GMT function. A globe depicting the northern hemisphere moves in a constant 24-hour rotation. Surrounding it are three rings which indicate two complementary times: local hours and minutes by triangular hands and universal time, which is read from the globe itself. The 24 time zones for universal time are set against a black background for night and white for day. An off-centre display at 10 o’clock corresponds to a second time zone. Turning the watch over reveals a disc showing UTC time in 24 world cities, but with a twist: Paris is replaced by La Chaux-de-Fonds, home to Greubel Forsey. The brand’s signature 30-degree inclined balance sits proudly at 7 o’clock, with small seconds to its right. This entire composition resides inside Greubel Forsey’s new convex case, in titanium and with a 43.50mm diameter.
The 66 pieces in this limited edition was produced between 2022 and 2024.
