Breguet Reine de Naples Haute Joaillerie 8909 (Reference: 8909BB/5D/J21/RRRR) is an ultra-luxury, high-jewellery edition of Breguet’s iconic egg-shaped ladies’ collection. The Reine de Naples series famously traces its design roots back to an 1810 commission by Caroline Murat, the Queen of Naples and sister of Napoleon Bonaparte, which is widely considered the first wristwatch ever created

  • Case & Dimensions: Crafted in 18K white gold with the collection’s distinctive ovoid (oval) shape. It measures 38.5 mm × 30.45 mm and features a sapphire crystal exhibition caseback. 
  • Gem-Setting:
    • The bezel is meticulously paved with 86 baguette-cut diamonds.
    • The dial flange and the crown are similarly set with brilliant-cut diamonds. 

  • Dial: Made of elegant natural mother-of-pearl featuring an off-centre hours chapter at the 6 o’clock position. The dial itself is further adorned with 67 pavé diamonds (approximately 2.80 carats). It utilizes Breguet’s signature blued-steel open-tipped hands. 
  • Bracelet: Unlike leather strap variants, this “RRRR” reference comes equipped with a luxurious, fully articulated 18K white gold metal bracelet heavily integrated and matching the gem-set aesthetic of the watch.
  • Calibre : Powered by the Breguet Calibre 537 DRL1 (or DRL2) automatic, self-winding mechanical movement. It operates at a frequency of 3.5 Hz and incorporates modern watchmaking materials like a flat silicon balance spring to improve precision and magnetism resistance. 
  • Complications:
    • Moon Phase Indicator: Displayed elegantly near the top of the dial.
    • Power Reserve Indicator: A subtle tracking complication indicating a total power reserve of roughly 40 to 45 hours.
