For your consideration is this extremely rare and collectable Rolex Cosmograph Zenith Daytona that dates to 1991.

As far as the reference 16520 Daytona goes, this particular example is as good as it gets. All-original components, superb condition, complete set with purchase receipt and to top it off it has been carefully serviced and offered for sale under Rolex’s Certified Pre-Owned program in 2024 before making its way directly to us.

This particular variant features an “inverted 6” dial, a prized variant amongst serious collectors. On the chronograph hour counter at 6 o’clock, the bottom of the track displays an inverted “6” which reads as a “9”. Whether or not this was a deliberate design choice or an oversight is not known for sure, but what we do know is that dials with this variation were only produced for a limited time and accordingly are much rarer than the non-inverted counterparts.

Features include hours, minutes, running small seconds, luminous hour markers/hands, chronograph function with screw-down pushers and screw-down crown helping ensure up 100 metres of water resistance.

The watch is fitted on a stainless steel Oyster bracelet with folding clasp.

To top it off, the watch is powered by the legendary Zenith calibre 4030, featuring automatic winding and a power reserve of 54 hours.

Accessories

The watch comes as a complete set, with its inner and outer box, user manuals, card wallet, calendar card, translation manual and the original purchase receipt from when it was originally sold in 1993 in Lichtenstein. Incredibly, the business card of the individual who sold the watch is also included with the receipt.

In addition, the Rolex Certified Pre-Owned international guarantee card from 2024 is also included.

Condition

The watch is preserved in superb condition, with only very minor signs of wear visible on close inspection. The original factory case-back sticker is still on the watch.
