ABOUT THE JACOB & CO. EPIC X COLLECTION

Introduced in 2015, the Jacob & Co. Epic X collection represents the brand’s bold approach to contemporary luxury watchmaking, combining distinctive design with technical innovation. Defined by its signature X-shaped lugs, architectural case construction, and skeletonised dials, the collection embodies Jacob & Co.’s commitment to creativity, precision, and exceptional craftsmanship.

In 2022, the collection entered a new phase of evolution at Geneva Watch Days, with refined aesthetics, innovative material combinations, and enhanced finishing introduced across five distinct variations. These developments reinforced the Epic X’s position as a distinctive expression of modern haute horlogerie.

Timeless Design and Precision Engineering

The 2022 Epic X collection retains its iconic X-shaped case architecture, featuring angular lugs integrated seamlessly into the bezel to create a cohesive and contemporary silhouette. Available in polished stainless steel and rose gold, the collection offers a sophisticated interplay of materials and finishes. The stainless steel version is further distinguished by blue aluminium accents on the inner bezel, bridges, and crown base, adding a striking contrast to its overall design.

A newly designed five-link bracelet, characterised by angular profiles, complements the watch’s architectural proportions. The collection features a 44 mm case diameter and a thickness of 13.05 mm, maintaining a bold yet refined wrist presence.

Powering the timepiece is the hand-wound JCAM45 calibre, distinguished by its vertical skeletonised construction, which places the movement’s mechanical components at the forefront of the design. Operating at 28,800 vibrations per hour, the movement delivers a power reserve of approximately 48 hours. The introduction of Clous de Paris-textured bridges and redesigned crown guards further enhances the collection’s refined finishing and technical character.

Honouring Indian Heritage: The Epic X India Editions

India’s rich cultural heritage and architectural legacy have inspired Jacob & Co. to create exclusive timepieces in collaboration with Ethos Watches. These special editions bring together the brand’s contemporary watchmaking philosophy and the historical significance of some of India’s most celebrated landmarks.

The Epic X India Edition pays tribute to four iconic monuments: the Taj Mahal, India Gate, Gateway of India, and Qutub Minar. Represented through intricate two-dimensional titanium designs, these architectural tributes celebrate India’s cultural diversity and historical legacy while offering a distinctive visual interpretation of its heritage.

Further expanding this narrative, Jacob & Co. introduced two exclusive Ram Janmabhoomi editions, incorporating cultural motifs and religious symbolism into the recognisable design language of the Epic X collection. These timepieces reflect the intersection of horological artistry, spiritual significance, and contemporary luxury.

In October 2024, the brand further developed this theme with the Wonders of India collection, replacing the Gateway of India with the Ram Mandir. This addition highlighted the enduring cultural and spiritual importance of the temple while reinforcing the brand’s approach to celebrating India’s evolving heritage through exclusive watchmaking.

Through these India-inspired creations, Jacob & Co. extends the Epic X collection beyond conventional luxury watch design, transforming each timepiece into a distinctive expression of craftsmanship, architectural inspiration, and cultural identity.
